Das Subprojekt Web Tools Platform (WTP) für Eclipse ist nun endlich in der Version 2.0 verfügbar und kann heruntergeladen werden.
Ich selbst arbeite schon eine ganze Weile mit Eclipse WTP und es ist in Sachen Unterstützung bei der Entwicklung von Web Anwendungen doch eine große Erleichterung. Mit den neuen Features für JSP 2.0 und JSF 1.2 sind weitere sehr nützliche Features verfügbar aber auch bei JPA, den Server Tools, HTML & CSS sowie XML und DTD Tools sind neue Features hinzugekommen.

Eclipse Web Tools Platform 2.0 is available for immediate download and can also be installed as part of Europa . This major update delivers its key goals of improved quality, adopter readiness, harmony with other Eclipse projects, and many new features for end users.

Eclipse developers will be particularly pleased with the debut of major features and/or specification updates to EJB3 JPA, JSP 2.0, JSF 1.2, Axis2 Web Services, Tomcat support, and source editing. This release also introduces Java EE 5 project support.

Also für alle die bisher die Web Tools Platform noch nicht verwendet haben und ihre JSP’s oder JSF Seiten in einem Editor ohne Syntax Highlighting und Autocomplete editieren bzw. ihre kleine Web Anwendung immer noch manuell per ANT und Server Neustart deployen die sollten sich das ganze doch noch etwas genauer ansehen.
