Obwohl mit Flash erstellt, ist es doch einen kleinen Hingucker wert: der diggGraphr. Hier werden Nachrichten nach ihrer Bewertung bei digg visuell dargestellt. Je mehr diggs eine Nachricht erhalten hat um so größer ist die Box.
DiggGraphr is a treemap view of Digg, where each story is represented by a rectangle and the area occupied by each rectangle is proportional to the number of Diggs relative to the other stories in that channel.
Eine exakt gleiche Anwendung besteht auch für Google News (auch in Flash) welche die Gewichtung der Anzahl gleicher Nachrichten von Google News übernimmt: Google Newsmap.
Newsmap is an application that visually reflects the constantly changing landscape of the Google News news aggregator. A treemap visualization algorithm helps display the enormous amount of information gathered by the aggregator.
Über die Google Newsmap und anderen Google Tagclouds hatte ich auch schon einmal letztes Jahr berichtet.
Insgesamt ist das doch eine schöne Möglichkeit schnell eine Übersicht der aktuellen Themen und News zu haben.
